About THE DRAGONBOND BOOKS - Series in Progress!
The Dragonbond Books tell the tale of an infant boy who is dropped at the front door of a 200-year-old library & raised by the head Librarian who lives in a basement apartment below the stacks. On the boy's 9th birthday, per his parent's request (left in a note), she gives him the few precious belongings his parents bequeathed him by concealing them in a hidden compartment of the bassinet that cradled the boy... gifts that changed the course of his life:
• an ancient book of unknown origin
• an archaic leather & feather quill
• a roughspun cloak, clasped with an ornate cloak-pin
• a peculiar looking, slightly rounded, speckle-spotted rock that, three months later... yep, you guessed it, hatches into a baby dragon.
With each new passing day, the boy begins to understand the archaic language of the mysterious book & learns that he is the last remaining descendant of an ancient lineage called The Dragonbond Tribe & can, therefore, speak with & bond with dragons... or rather, one particular dragon. And as you know, or may have guessed, everything changes when you have a dragon in your life. All manner of mischief and mayhem ensues.
Author's Note: I've always wanted to write a dragon series. I've been waiting a very long time for the right tale to emerge (spiky dragon tail), and finally, it has bubbled up to the surface from the depths of my inner creative well. I am having so much fun writing it, that every morning I wake and can't wait for the end of the day when I crawl into bed--my room dark but for a single dim light to illuminate my keys-- and write for a few hours before falling asleep and dreaming of... you guess it... dragons!
The Dragonbond Books will be launched initially as an eBook series by my own shiny new publishing company, Cloud Chaser Books, and will be episodic (one adventure a month). The paperback versions will be published a bit later by Mischievous Muse Press, and will be compilation based.
